On the behalf of the customers, staff, and board members of Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI), I am writing to congratulate our friend Linda Thomas-Greenfield on her nomination to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Her nomination and service come at a time of great challenges, but even greater opportunity.
As a distinguished diplomat, former U.S. Ambassador to Liberia, and member of the board of Alight, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield has helped reorient the international humanitarian community toward dignity and respect for people in the world’s most challenging places. As fellow members of the Alight family and stewards of the transformative Asili social enterprise — which Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield’s vision and support helped co-create — all of us at ECI applaud her nomination to this most significant post with joy and optimism.
Over the past ten years of working in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, ECI has always focused our efforts on the limitless potential of the Congolese people. Co-creating revolutionary, and lasting value with and for the people of eastern DRC has shown a path toward unlocking even more potential around the world.
As she helps to build back the U.S. presence in the United Nations to better standing, we at ECI stand ready to provide Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield any support we can to help her achieve our common goals of global peace, just prosperity, and wellbeing for all.
