Brahmy Poologasinham
Brahmy brings more than a decade of experience in global development, international legal policy and high-impact donor development to ECI. She has managed multi-million dollar grant programs throughout Africa, and has extensive on-the-ground experience in DRC, Sudan and South Sudan. She has significant relationships with private foundations, individual philanthropists and officials at USAID, DfID, the US Department of State and numerous European government donors. Brahmy joins ECI from the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) where she served for five years as Special Advisor to the Director and the Africa Program’s Senior Program Manager. Prior to ABA ROLI, she practiced international law in Seattle, Washington, at the law offices of K & L Gates and Dorsey & Whitney. Brahmy’s human rights related legal experience includes her work for the Human Rights Commission and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa. A native of Sri Lanka, she speaks Tamil and French.
